Join our chapter for an afternoon at Smuin Ballet!

The National Federation of the Blind San Francisco Bay Area Chapter is
attending Smuin’s Audio Description Orientation Event, and we’d love to
have you join us.

Explore dance and ballet through description, touch, and movement with
audio describer Ian Buchanan and Smuin dancer Margot Aknin. Whether you
love ballet or are simply curious, come learn and connect with our
community.

Saturday, October 3, 2026
2:00 to 3:00 p.m. Pacific
Smuin Center for Dance
1830 17th Street, San Francisco

The workshop costs $5, with a $5 credit toward a future Smuin performance.
It is free for audio-described performance ticket holders and for
companions, guides, and personal care assistants. No one will be turned
away for lack of funds.

Please RSVP by emailing classes at smuinballet.org and copying
nfbsf.community at gmail.com. Include your name, contact information, and the
names of anyone attending with you. Please send your RSVP only to these two
addresses rather than replying to everyone on this email. You can contact
Smuin directly about accommodations, guide dog relief areas, or drop-off
information.

Interested in getting food together afterward? Mention that in your RSVP so
the chapter can gauge interest. Restaurant details are still being arranged.

Friends and newcomers are welcome! You do not have to be a member of the
chapter to join us.

We look forward to learning, connecting, and enjoying the afternoon
