Hi all, 

On Monday, 11 February, Vice Mayor Elizabeth Bennett-Parker will be the guest speaker at a meeting of the Alexandria Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee (BPAC). The meeting is open to the public and you are very welcome to come and participate in the discussion. We have asked the Vice Mayor to share her vision for Transportation and her ideas about walking and biking in Alexandria. She is also interested in hearing our questions and concerns. 

The February 11th meeting at 7 pm will be held at Alexandria Police Department (APD) Headquarters, 3600 Wheeler Ave. 

               The first hour of the two-hour program on Monday evening also includes the following: 

*	Lieutenant Mike May, APD’s Traffic Safety Officer, will provide an update on recent and planned APD Traffic Safety initiatives. 
*	Ms. Christine Mayeur, City Complete Streets Program Manager, will provide an update on progress and future plans for Vision Zero and Complete Streets projects

I hope that at least a few of you can join us on Monday night for interesting and informative discussions. A complete meeting agenda is attached; you are welcome to stay for the 2nd hour of the meeting, but are welcome to just attend the first portion, depending on your schedules.

Subject: Tandem Maintenance and Only 38 Days Until Our First Ride

Hello,

We have completed two maintenance days, completing work on 8 tandems, partially completed 3, and have 2 yet to start

Thanks to Bob, Bonnie, Jim, Patty, Zack, Jimmy, Doug, Eldon and Mike for working on the bikes

We replaced chains on 4 tandems (using 12 new chains) and will replace still more  ($250 worth of chains)

We taped five handlebars, replaced one rear gear hub and still have to replace a derailler hanger  ($175)

We replaced two tires ($100)

We bought $100 of cleaning supplies and oils

We used up the funds we collected last year and are $150 in the negative.

If everyone who is going to ride with us this year could chip in $40 or $50 we can replenish some of our parts supplies now with cheaper winter prices.  If you can send me a check at 1926 Baltimore Annapolis Blvd., Annapolis MD 21409 it would be appreciated.
