[Nfbv-announce] Passing of Bill Parker

I am passing on the sad news that Bill Parker died last evening.  He passed
away last night in the nursing home where he had resided for the past
several months.  He had just returned there from a stint in the hospital.
Bill has been a long time member of the Tidewater Chapter, serving in many
capacities in our chapter.  He was a member of the NFB and an employee of
the Department for the Blind and Visually Impaired at a time when it was not
popular to be a member of the NFB and employed by DBVI.  He knew many people
in the Tidewater area.  

 

Bill's funeral service will take place on Friday, January 20 at Blessed
Sacraments Catholic Church, 5400 Newport Avenue, Norfolk, VA.  Visitation
will take place at 10 AM, with a Mass starting at 11 AM.  Bill will be
interned in the Houston, TX area.  Funeral arrangements made through Foster
Funeral Home, 1926 High Street, Portsmouth, VA 23704.  

 

I know that Bill will be missed by many people.
