If you understand the vocational rehabilitation system, your fellow blind Virginians need your help. Together, we can help people understand the choices and process for obtaining the services they need to live full and productive lives.

 

 

 

·      3:45-3:50 PM- Introduction- Stewart Prost-NFBV Vocational Rehabilitation Advocate

 

·      3:50-4:05 PM -The Mechanics of Building an Advocacy Corps-Gary Wunder, Editor, Braille Monitor & NFB of Missouri President

 

·      4:05-4:15 PM-The Client Assistance Program-Julie Triplet, Disability Rights Advocate & Shelesha Taylor, Advocate & Intake/Outreach Specialist, disAbility Law Center of Virginia

 

·      4:15-4:25 PM-Working with the NFB Advocacy Corps-Susan Davis Payne, Director of Vocational Services, Department for the Blind & Vision Impaired (DBVI)

 

·      4:25-4:45 PM-The Next Steps-Discussion between panel and participants-the development of a plan to build our advocacy corps.
