Hello,
I know, it's been awhile.
For those of you who were unable to attend the 2015 NFBV convention in
October, we had a great Senior Seminar.
We had speakers on such topics as:
- Senior services provided by the Virginia Department for the Blind
and Visually Impaired;
- Newsline;
- Reading services for blind Virginians available through the
state library;
- Living a full and active life as a blind senior;
- Low tech aids and appliances.
During the luncheon which preceded the seminar, we discussed formation of a
Senior Division. There was much support from those present.
To continue the Senior Division discussion and related topics, we will hold
a conference call on Tuesday, May 10, at 7:00. All seniors, and those
interested in seniors, are welcome. Phone numbers for this call appear
below:
Phone: 712-432-1500;
When prompted, ender code 830676 followed by the pound key (key to the left
of the 0).
If you have comments, questions and/or discussion topics, please contact
Nancy Yeager, phone 703-283-2524, email: nancyyeager542 at comcast.net

The National Federation of the Blind knows that blindness is not the
characteristic that defines you or your future. Every day we raise the
expectations of blind people, because low expectations create obstacles
between blind people and our dreams. You can live the life you want;
blindness is not what holds you back.
