In today's countdown message we wanted to highlight programming focused on
seniors.

If your low vision makes you feel like simple tasks are difficult or
impossible, you are not alone.

Consider joining us for the NFB of Virginia virtual convention from October
24-31. This Saturday (10/30) seminar could prove valuable.

Take charge of your life as you meet blind and low vision seniors who live
their lives independently by shopping, traveling independently,
volunteering, preparing meals for themselves and others. Improve your
independence, reduce isolation, and overcome challenges with the help of
experts.

Highlights include:

*	Empowerment Seminar: Our Friday (10/29) afternoon seminar will
feature product demonstrations, lively discussions, and practical resources
for helping you live the life you want.
*	Parent Sessions: Blindness does not stop grandparents from playing
an active role in the raising of children, and our Wednesday (10/27) evening
seminar will help you adapt the skills and attitude to keep playing that
active role in your family.
*	Money Matters: It's never too late to get on top of your finances
and make your dollars work for you instead of against you.
*	October Fest: Because sometimes you just need to let your hair down
and enjoy yourself playing games and socializing with people from all walks
of life.

Silver BELLS is our latest initiative designed to help blind seniors take
ownership of life on their own terms. Come out to the convention. Learn
skills from positive role models, make new friends, and join a community
committed to your independence. At the convention, you can get a small
sampling of what you might learn and determine if Silver Bells is right for
you and your family.
