Hey NFB Family and Friends,

 

Well, I  guess you guys have something to say about Convention?!  Read on to
hear what our 1st Vice President, Sandy Halverson, thinks. 

 

With Zoom, you have to use your imagination. You hear a voice which is
better than reading something from a piece of paper containing the same
information.  My favorite parts of our 2020 NFBV convention were hearing
Tracy gavel us to order and imagining the loud cheers I would have heard in
person, hearing the emotion in the voices of some of our members as they
described overcoming very difficult personal situations which brought me to
tears in my home as they would have if we had been in person, and the joy of
the pre-banquet room changes as I actually got to visit with old friends
across the Commonwealth and make new ones from other states.  During the
banquet, I imagined Everett Bacon's words against what should have been a
background of banquet desserts being eaten, laughter, applause and our other
vocal responses heard in a large gathering of people and I look forward to
where my mind will take me this year
