and information will be released soon Check your email, you’ll know as soon
as I do.

Join one of our Chapter’s meetings in person or virtually. Take the
opportunity to get to know others in your Affiliate. Enjoy!

Kudos Corner

Hello everyone. My name is Wayne Williams and I am the new Zoom Coordinator
on the Communication Committee. I can be contacted about meetings preferable
via email or text (but I can do phone calls as well). My email is

cell number is 540-535-6958. I understand that sometimes last minute changes
arise but I would appreciate a week's notice if meetings need to be moved
around. To make sure that I have the most up to date information I request
that all chapters, clubs, and committees using the affiliate zoom to please
send me an email with your chapter, club, or committee name and regular
meeting date and time so that I can compare it to my notes to minimize
future conflicts. Thank you all for your assistance to make sure everyone
has the meeting times they need.

Historic Fredericksburg is getting out in the community and spreading our
movement! Phenomenal work, Michael Casey and Members! Read all about it and
go support their chapter,. Contact Michael if you are able to volunteer with
their chapter and make new friends or renew old ones. Stronger Together!

To help spread the word of our NFB advocacy, we will set up a table at the
Fredericksburg Farmers Market on Saturday, September 10 from 9 a.m. until 1
p.m.  This is a community day and other organizations will be there.

This may be a great way to increase the enthusiasm in our chapter.

Spotlight On

Greetings once again,

It is almost time for the monthly At Large chapter conference call.

Best wishes for a strong academic year to all K-12 and college students
starting their Fall semester in the coming days.  Key topics in this months
call include a review of the affiliate board meeting from a few days back
and a discussion of upcoming programming, and the state convention.

I am pleased to announce that we will have Delegate Jackie Glass,
representing the 89th District, joining us for a special meeting of the
Tidewater Chapter.  We will be meeting on Saturday, August 20, 2022.  As
usual, we will meet in person at Bangkok Gardens, 417 West 21st Street,
Norfolk, VA 23517 and on Zoom.  The Zoom information appears at the end of
this message.  If you plan to eat lunch, please plan on coming at 1 PM.  Our
meeting will start promptly at 2 PM and will end by 3:30 PM.  If anyone
plans to come in person, particularly for lunch, please let me know no later
than Thursday, August 18 by 12 Noon.  My contact information is below as
well.  I hope that as many people as possible will join us so that we will
have a good presence for Delegate Glass.

again!

Our evening is jam-packed with very special people to provide us with

And to top off our evening, we have a very special program planned for you!

     “DIVERSITY THROUGH MY LENS” 

We have invited a few of the contributing authors of the newly released, and
soon-to-be best seller, “The Write 2 Heal: It’s Not About the Sight Lost,
but the Vision Gained”—

Jeanetta Price, Krystle Allen, and Goddess Johnson will share their
wonderous gift of prose and poetry, guiding us through their journey of
darkness
and light!  Following this extraordinary experience in the spoken
word, the Greater Alexandria Chapter has invited the NFBV Diversity, Equity
and Inclusion Committee to join in for a very unique Fireside Diversity Chat
that will pick up the beautiful strands left by the poets, and tease out the
fruit, in a facilitated discussion that will be laid out by all in
attendance!

I hope you will join in on this night of DIVERSITY THROUGH MY LENS.
