[NFBV-Announce] Seeking Employment Partners for Project RISE Students

Hello everyone,

In Project RISE we work hard throughout the academic school year to train
our students to be competitive candidates for an ever evolving workforce.
Not only do they have to possess the qualifications for a job, they also
have to possess the confidence and independence to not allow blindness or
low vision to get in the way of meeting their full potential. Each year our
training culminates in a series of summer job placements with a variety of
employers in Virginia, DC, and in some cases, across the country, depending
on the needs of the worksite and the qualifications of the student.

As we've done in years past, we're putting out a general call for your
assistance in tapping your networks to help expand our list of employment
partners. We have a wide scope of interests ranging from baking to medicine,
and we're also interested in entry level jobs with transferrable skills to
more advanced internship opportunities down the road.

In order to help promote this campaign for employers, I've created a page
where you can direct prospects to learn more about who we are and what we're
looking for. I'll take any feedback you'd be willing to make to make the
copy stronger, and of course, I'd be willing to take any leads you can
forward our way.

Project RISE with facilitating these employment placements:

If you'd like to discuss either of these announcements, please reply. I'd be
glad to provide additional information.

I'm also working on a flyer to help with offline recruitment.

This general call is part of a broader strategy to expand our professional
contacts. We start with you, however, because friends and colleagues
reaching out to friends and colleagues is always going to be more compelling
than cold calls from total strangers. You know the NFB story and can explain
how our philosophy drives these sorts of special programs that result in
marketable candidates willing to learn and eager to get started.

As always, thank you kindly for your assistance.

Very appreciative,

Joe
