Hi NFB Family and Friends,

 

Life has a way of getting in the way of plans.after a short hiatus, the
member to member profiles are back! Yippee!

 

Today we're getting to know Daniel Parry from our Winchester Chapter. Daniel
was inspired by our Blind Driver Challenge, that's how he heard about us, he
than joined our Winchester Chapter in 2013.

 

Daniel enjoys being a homebody. He saw the Blind Driver Challenge live and
has been excited about the NFB and autonomous cars since that time. 

 

He would like to see his chapter build or get a showdown table, like table
tennis. The balls have noise makers in them. He wants to meet more of his
NFB  Family and other blind people in general. 

 

Daniel is also interested in resources, he wants to grab the tiger by the
tail and learn, learn and learn some more! Daniel says "I'm interested in
pod casts and TED talks. I want to learn how to do both."

 

He gets fired up about video games and virtual reality and accessibility. "I
know I could do a TED talk on those subjects!" That's where his hobbies and
interests lie, videogames, accessibility and virtual reality. In fact,
Daniel says "I would love to live in a virtual reality forum which I've
created or experience a fully autonomous car."

 

Daniel grew up in Front Royal and graduated, in 2002, from the Virginia
School of the Deaf and Blind. He thinks he would have gotten a better
education from a public school and regrets having not gone to one. He lives,
independently, with his Mom. He says he had a great childhood with his Mom
and Grand Mom "they gave me a strong believe in Jesus." He grew up in the
80's and 90's "those were the best years!, Daniel says.

 

Daniel would really love to attend a National NFB Convention. In fact, his
bucket list is one item long, going to National!

 

If he won BIG money, Daniel says he would invest. He says "I wouldn't go
wild with the money."
