[NFBV-Announce] What’s Your Favorite Blindness Hack?

Fellow Federationists and Friends,

*What’s one thing you do as a blind person that makes someone else say,
“Wait… how did you do that?”*

Maybe it’s a tool. Maybe it’s technology. Maybe it’s a completely nonvisual
technique you picked up years ago from another blind person.

Now imagine putting a whole room of those ideas together.

That’s the idea behind *Tools for Independence*, a hands-on seminar
happening *Friday afternoon* at the 2026 NFB of Virginia State Convention.

We’ll explore practical *no-tech, low-tech, and high-tech* approaches to:

   - Independent living
   - Navigating and interacting in your community
   - Staying connected with others
   - Finding resources to keep learning independently

But this isn’t just about showing up and listening.

*Bring a problem you haven’t figured out yet. Bring a solution you have.*

Because sometimes the most useful thing you take home from convention isn’t
something you planned to learn. It’s the trick, tool, resource, or idea you
picked up from the blind person sitting next to you.
