Please feel free to share the below information with others who use Voice Over to access the iPhone.

If you rely on Voice Over to access your iPhone and you have activated the fingerprint feature which allows you to pay for purchases by touching the home button, you need to be aware that you can accidentally make purchases. A friend was playing a game on her iPhone when a screen popped up asking if she wanted to purchase something. Voice over was not identifying a button or link to allow her to exit out. She decided to go to the App Switcher to close the app by tapping the Home Button twice. Because she has the Fingerprint Purchasing feature activated on her iPhone, when she touched the Home Button the purchase was confirmed and $19.95 was deducted from her account. She immediately called the Apple Accessibility line, explained the situation and asked if she could get her money back. After a lengthy back and forth, the Apple representative grudgingly agreed to refund the cost of the app, but not the taxes. She was also warned that if it happened again, there will not be a refund of any amount.

HTH,
Annette
