The Fairfax Chapter of the National Federation of the Blind Virginia
Affiliate (NFBV) will be meeting on Thursday, September 19, 2019 from 7:00pm
- 8:30pm.  Those wanting to purchase dinner can plan to arrive between
6:00pm - 6:30pm.

*	Presenter - Shandi Treloar, Fairfax City Office of Emergency
Management.  Ms. Treloar has had a successful career in emergency management
working with clients at all levels of government. Over the course of her
career, she has gained experience across the entire spectrum of emergency
management. The City of Fairfax is her longest-standing client, having
served the City for over ten years. Shandi has supported the writing of the
City's Emergency Operations Plan, debris plan and donations plan. She has
developed training and exercises for the City and has conducted community
outreach on behalf of the City. In addition to her emergency management
consulting Shandi serves on the board of the National Emergency Management
Association as the Chair of the Private Sector Committee and currently
supports the Electric Infrastructure Security Council as their Private
Sector Coordinator.
*	Topic - Do you have an emergency plan in place?  Do you know what
resources are available in the community to help you develop a plan for
yourself and your family?  As a person with a disability, what should you
know before a disaster happens to ensure your needs are met?  What about
your guide or service dog during a disaster?  Join us at this month's NFBV
Fairfax Chapter meeting and learn the answers to these questions and much
more to help you and your family be prepared in an emergency.
