[NFBV-Fairfax] November 16 2023 meeting minutes

Greetings,

Below are the minutes from the november 16 2023 chapter meeting as approved
by the chapter on december 21 2023.

National Federation of the Blind of Virginia Fairfax Chapter November 16
    7PM: Call to order (President Carr)
    In attendance
        Ameenah Ghoston
        Annette Carr
        Christine Grassman
        Jacob Ham
        John Scroggs
        Ashley Bramlett
        Frank Claus
    Headline Event
        Guest Melanie Berdyck of Giant Food lead a discussion and lecture
on holiday nutrition and grocery store accessibility. Covered topics
include the Giant Food app, to read labels, discover sales, and find
nutrition information about foods in the kitchen and store.
    Elections
        The membership present did not constitute a quorum of the Fairafax
Chapter of the National Federation of the Blind of Virginia, however out of
concern for the chapter's continued operation, it was voted unanimously
that certain election regulations were suspended to enable the election of
a new board.

        The following individuals were elected to office:
        Christine Grassman -- President
        John Scroggs -- Vice President
        Ameenah Ghoston -- Treasurer
        Jacoob Ham -- Secretary
    Holiday party
        The membership discussed plans for the chapter's annual holiday
party. It was decided that the party would take place somewhere in Reston,
in an effort to support membership in western Fairfax.
    Adjournment
        Meeting adjourned at 8:30 PM.
