Important items:
Before sharing any other exciting details from our May meeting, I want to cover some significant items in this post.
** Most importantly: If you are experiencing the annoying inability to read posts because of continuing inserted symbols, reach out to me separately and I will send you the information. We are working on a means of getting around this issue and will provide further information once we have explored the most efficient means of getting information to you until this is fixed. 

Second, please see another post which I will be sending out regarding the Northern Virginia Homecoming and Auction, hosted by the Potomac Chapter, providing a wonderful opportunity to get together with your Northern Virginia Federation family and to make some money for your chapter at the same time by providing auction items. 
This will take place at the Lyon Village Community House on June 21 from 2:00 to 5:30. Please check the list for related information.

Third, many have reached out (repeatedly, in some instances) to inquire how you might pay dues or make donations electronically to the chapter.
We are finally able to provide that for you.
Using Zelle, you can send money electronically by using the below email (please note that there is no “v” after NFB in the email address:

If treasurer Ameenah Ghoston’s name pops up when Zelle asks you if you are sure, or needs confirmation, you are at the right place, and can proceed. 
Third, we are skipping our June meeting and Ameenah has graciously offered to host a Convention Banquet party at her home for a banquet watch party on July 13. This will be first come, first served up to ten individuals. Look out for a Google Form to RSVP. 
Fourth, we will have a June and (highly likely) a July board meeting. Please stay alert, as the July board meeting will be scheduled on July 1st. 
Fifth, and finally, (at least for this announcement email), we will hold a chapter activity in August, rather than a meeting. This will be discussed at our upcoming board meetings. 
Following the announcement post about the upcoming auction, I will send minutes, within which you will find a link to Trouble Defense LLC, the firearms training institution featured during our May meeting.
We are in the process of trimming down our chapter meeting in order to provide a recording for those who are interested. However, you can reach out to me as well if you have questions. 
Remember: be on the lookout for auction info, and if you need information sent separately because of extraneous symbols, let me know.
