This month's meeting will be Saturday, January 9, at 10:00 in meeting room 2
of the Central Rappahannock Regional Library, 1201 Caroline Street,
Fredericksburg, Virginia, 22401. Please be aware this is a small room, but
it was the only one available. It holds 25 people. At worst, we will have
to get some extra chairs from the set up room. I asked about moving the
meeting a week later but, for some reason, nothing was available January 16.
In addition, we really need to meet Saturday to have e ample time to prepare
for the state board meeting and Richmond Seminar January 18-19 as well as
the Washington Seminar a week later. Please start thinking about whether
you will attend the Richmond Semilunar because our state legislative
co-chair women need to know as soon as possible after Saturday's meeting.

We also need to decide what we want to do about our future meeting place and
time because our constitution says this is up to the chapter. I think our
attendance improved when we began the Saturday meetings.

I accept full responsibility for this late and short notice. Only one woman
at the library has the authority to schedule meeting rooms. Today, she
returned from an absence from her office. Meeting room 2 had been assigned
to us earlier, but I hoped to change it for a larger one. Last time, when
we were assigned a room of this size, no one liked it. After questioning
the scheduler, I learned the reason for the concern was probably the
presence of only a small; number of chairs. This gave the impression it
could only hold nine or ten people. However, I have been assured it will
hold 25 and it is fine for us to help ourselves to as many chairs as we
need. I told Ms. Harrison, if we vote to continue meetings at the library,
she can expect a call from me Monday morning to get as many of them
scheduled in advance as policy there permits.
