[NFBV-Historic-Fredericksburg] Paddle with the Blind in historic Fredericksburg

Our May Chapter meeting will be this Saturday May29.  We will hold the
meeting at Mott's Run and have a Paddle with the Blind.  The announcement
for the event went to the NFB of Virginia (see forwarded email below).  We
will be on the water from about 10"30 a.m to about noon.  Then, we will hold
our Chapter meeting and have apicnic.  Bring your own bag lunch and drink.

 

Let the fun begin.

Announcing that Paddle with the Blind is back!  We will float our boats this
Saturday, May 29 beginning at 10:30 a.m.

The event will be at Mott's Run and include a time for our Chapter meeting
and picnic.  Bring your own bag lunch and drink.  If you are interested in
floating in a canoe, please let me know vie email at

number of boats is limited.

 

Motts Run Reservoir is at  6600 River Road.

This 860-acre natural area including the 160-acre reservoir, is a haven for
fishing, boating canoeing, hiking and picnicking. It also serves the
residents of Fredericksburg and parts of Spotsylvania County with drinking
water. You may bring your own boat (ELECTRIC MOTORS ONLY) to launch on the
lake, or fish from the banks. Fee charged for fishing and boat launching. No
swimming, horseback riding, biking of any kind, or all-terrain vehicles
permitted. The park has jon boats and canoes available for rental, picnic
grills and tables, and over 4 miles of hiking trails. 

Motts Reservoir is OPEN Thursdays - Mondays April 1 - October 31 from 7:00am
- 7:00pm; the Reservoir is CLOSED on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. If the weather
is questionable, call before coming (540) 786-8989. As a cost saving
measure, when the weather is bad we reserve the right to close the reservoir
early.
