Dear Friends,

 

This is a long overdue note to let you know where I have landed so far.  In
case you have forgotten me since I have been so remiss in keeping in touch,
this is Mary Ann Kessler - checking In, and , my  new address is 125 Midway
Drive, Jim Thorpe PA  18229.  

 

The Arlington house was sold at the end of November and I have settled in at
the mountain house in the Poconos for the winter.  .  It has been a busy
time  as construction on my little condo in Doylestown is in progress.  That
will not be available to me for a couple of months.  Living in Doylestown
(where we raised our kids)  will be much like Arlington where I can walk to
everything including grocery stores, hardware stores ,  post office, movie
theater, etc.  It is not like Arlington in that the transportation is not
quite as convenient and all of you wonderful friends are not there!  

 

The mountain house is vastly different from both places.  It is incredibly
lovely in the snow with lots of trees, deer, foxes, squirrels and
rabbits.which means there are lots of leaves to rake, snow to shovel, ice to
avoid.  But, it is a wonderful place to be.  So, I am again inviting all of
you to come see me here and in Doylestown.  Billie ruth and Alan are
hopefully putting together dates so that I can entertain them this Spring as
they were the winners of the Kessler B&B auction item.  Got a date yet,
Billie Ruth?

 

I hear that someone special is going to star in "Fiddler on the Roof" at her
high school the weekend of the 26th.  I plan to be there  with Debbie and
Bob for the afternoon show on Saturday, Jan. 28.  Will I see any of you
there.Tracy and Sharon - maybe?  Can hardly wait to hear your daughter sing!
It will be my first return to Arlington since November.  That doesn't seem
possible.

 

The days here are mostly lovely, especially when it snows. with my family
only 45 minutes away,  I get to see them frequently.there is an exercise
class three days per week  in the community building just a short walk from
my house. and,  happily, I have some new friends from the community who drop
in now and then.

 

I sincerely hope that you and yours had a wonderful holiday season and that
you have a beautiful and peaceful New Year.  And when you get bored with all
the conveniences of Alexandria and Arlington, etc., ., just come to the
North country and take a break with me by the fireplace  in the mountains.
There is lots of room!  Bring a party!  I am serious about this
invitation!!!
