MINUTES OF THE WINCHESTER
CHAPTER OF THE N.F.B.

November 20, 2021

The meeting was called to order by President Chris Walker at 10:10 AM.
including phone attendees, there were 14Members present .

We did have two guests, Samantha Ellis and Jage Woodward. We gave
them a brief overview of the NFB.

Wayne Williams led our members in the NFB Pledge.

We had an Ice-breaker minute, introducing ourselves. We were asked to
tell our favorite Season traditions.

Janet Lincoln read the minutes from the June meeting. They were
approved as read.

nJim Walker gave the Financial Report for September-Octnober. It was
approved. He mentioned several items that will appear in the
November-December report. One item was a donation we have receives
from the First Methodist Church of Winchester. They had sold their
building, and chose to send us $600 from one of their accounts. Most
of our folks were unsure about the connections with this, but some of
our really OLD members remembered that at least two of our Founding
Members, the late Amy Barns, and Lois Everline were active members in
that Church.

When several folks asked about why we were having problems hearing our
people on the phone, Wayne assured us this would be the last time.
The new hardware would be ready for the next meeting.

Chris went over the Chapters outreach efforts for the past two months.
The Lions Sensory trail was dedicated, and hopefully when the weather
turns toward Summer, we can gather there as a group. He said that
Access Independence and the Northwestern Workshop had also been in
touch with him. They were interested in project ideas where the
organizations could combine their efforts.

We were asked about the NFBV State Convention, our likes and gripes.
Once again, this convention was via the Zoom platform. Wayne Williams
listened closely, since he was one of the folks that put it together.
The general opinion was that the NFBV did the best with what was
available, but nothing truly could replace an in-person event.
However, we thanked Wayne and the other folks for their efforts.

While on that subject, we congratulated Wayne. He was awarded a
$1,500 State Scholarship at the convention. It is the first time one
of our Members receives a scholarship at that level.

we talked about the Silverbell Project. It is coming together nicely.
Sandy Halverson Has been put in charge of the project. There is still
a need for folks willing to volunteer to help. she will keep us
informed.

Lastly, we discussed our December meeting. This affair was a "Cookie
Exchange," along with a great deal of conversation and Holiday
Greetings. Barring any official business that could not be put-off,
we would continue this tradition.

This reminded Chris to say a few words about the up-coming Richmond
and Washington political seminars. The Richmond event is held in mid
January, and the other late in the month. Anybody interested in
either one, should start their plans soon, and coordinate with Chris.

The meeting adjourned at around 11:27 AM.

Respectively submitted,
Jim Green
Recording Secretary

MINUTES OF THE WINCHESTER
CHAPTER OF THE N.F.B.

December 18, 2021

Well, there are no minutes. We had our Christmas Cookie Party. Of
course between eating, we discussed Chapter issues. But no business
was conducted. The party broke up around 11:15 A.M.

Respectively submitted,
Jim Green
Recording Secretary
