Conference For Families of 

Blind Children and Youth

 

In 1986 Child and Family Services sponsored a Conference for Families of
Infant and Pre-School Children.  Over the past twenty-two years this
annual conference evolved to be known as the Washington Conference for
Families of Blind Children and Youth.

 

Due to our current economic recession all agencies of Washington state
government have been instructed to reduce their budget and curtail
expenses.  One casualty of our budget reduction is the cancellation of
our annual conference for families of blind children and youth. 

Only families of blind children, enrolled with DSB Child and Family
Services, were notified of the Conference cancellation in the
Fall-Winter edition of the Child and Family newsletter, ABOUT BLIND
CHILDREN.   

 

 In place of a statewide conference the Child and Family program is
working to facilitate regional events for families of blind children.
Information about regional events will be forthcoming.

 

Please inform the families in your community that they may direct any
questions or concerns regarding the cancellation of the Conference for
Families of Blind Children, or questions about future events to my
office.
