Hey Becky!  How's it going?  It is true that I do not move with 
the same smoothness with my cane as I do with a dog.  You know 
what I mean?  Like when I'm walking down the street I don't hit 
every fire hydrant, newspaper stand, garbage can, etc.  because 
Lamar guides me around all that stuff.  Well, it will be 
interesting to see what he thinks when I move with more 
confidence with the cane.  (I doubt that I'm going to convert to 
a cane user forever but I know that if I can feel confident with 
a cane it should increase my ability and confidence with Lamar or 
whatever future dog I have.  Right now I have a love-hate 
relationship with my cane.  Lol.    Peace,    Debby
