[nfbwatlk] Am I being too sensitive

Hi Debbie.
Hope you can make it to the convention.
I live in an area with no buses now. I have been there almost 30 years and
with my mortgage almost paid off. I don't see myself moving anytime soon.

When the community transit budget was cut some years back, I lost the public
bus option but still had the dial a ride. Then community Transit decided,
if you don't live within a quarter mile of a bus stop you were no longer
eligible for paratransit. Which was ridiculous in my case. If I was within
the quarter mile of a public stop, I would have just walked to it.
I live on the Tulalip Indian reservation and they have put in a bus system
to get folks to their casino and outlet mall. It runs through my
neighborhood and started out only on weekdays and daytime hours. They have
expanded the routes and times. Eventually, i think it will include weekends
and evenings. They are growing quickly as the entire area is as well.

Anyway. I get to town every weekday for work, so I try to plan my shopping
and use the transportation from work for doctor and other appointments.
Good luck with your training and hope to meet you as well.
