DEI Asset Building Coordinator
: The Washington Access Fund is seeking an energetic candidate to fill a one year
position as Asset Building Coordinator for the Disability Employment Initiative (DEI).
DEI is a U.S. Department of Labor funded grant designed to improve access, services
and outcomes for job seekers with disabilities served by Work Source Centers in King
and Snohomish Counties. The Asset Building Coordinator will work with the Governor’s
Committee on Disability Issues and Employment (Lead Agency), Disability Resources
Coordinators in King and Snohomish County Work Source Centers and other partners
to integrate an asset building component into the DEI project and offer soft skill
training to job seekers with disabilities.
About the Washington Access Fund: The
Washington Access Fund
is a nonprofit Community Development Financial Institution (“CDFIâ€) established
by and for individuals with disabilities. Our mission is to promote access to technology
and economic opportunity for individuals with disabilities living in Washington state.
The Fund offers affordable financing (low interest loans and matched savings accounts)
for assistive technology needed for any purpose and for business equipment needed
for employment and self-employment plus related client services.
Position Responsibilities:
IDA Project
: Design, implement and evaluate a fast track “Work Opportunities†Individual
Development (Matched Savings) Account
Self-Employment
: Identify and address needs of Work Source staff and job seekers around services
to individuals interested in self-employment including staff training and navigation
assistance to job seekers
Financial Education, Soft Skills Training & Other Asset Building Activities
: Identify needs of staff and job seekers around financial education, training and
counseling in soft skills and other asset building activities and identify options
for meeting such needs including staff training and education and navigation assistance
to individual job seekers
Desired Qualifications:
Minimum 3 years experience in relevant field including, for example, disability policy
and/or service delivery, financial education, employment counseling and asset building;
vocational rehabilitation and/or micro-enterprise training & development
Understanding of barriers to employment faced by individuals with disabilities
Strong program development and evaluation skills
Excellent time management skills, ability to multi-task and to work collaboratively
with others
Strong writing & public speaking skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Ability to travel to Work Source Centers in King and Snohomish Counties
Salary
: Depending upon qualifications with option of health, dental & vision benefits and
simple IRA (matches up to 3% of salary).
FTE: .8 – 1.0.
