CAST Awarded OSEP Grant to Provide Support and Guidance for use of Accessible Educational Materials (AEM)

New AEM Center!
The National Center on Accessible Educational Materials for Learning (AEM Center), funded by the Office of Special Education Programs (OSEP) at the U.S. Department of Education, provides support for the use of AEM in early learning, K-12, higher education, and workplace settings, and includes both print materials and educational materials that are developed and distributed in digital formats. What are AEM?
For students with sensory, physical, cognitive, or learning differences and their teachers, accessible educational materials may open doors to teaching and learning that ordinary print-based materials have closed. Accessible educational materials or AEM are specialized formats of curricular content that can be used by and with students who are unable to read or use standard print materials. Specialized formats include braille, audio, large print, and digital text.
