Keri, 

When I moved to an area I didn't know and was looking for a place to
live, I called the local police department and got their advice on what
areas were safe and which areas to avoid.

As far as NY goes I'm stressed. Things are so expensive I just hope we
can 
find something.... Also it is going to be tough to get a sighted person
to 
go with us for visual checking... Any suggestions on this welcomed.
