This is for those of you who know Charley Ploss and knew Wanda June
Ploss, his wife.

ROMNEY, W.Va. - Wanda June Ploss, 80, of Romney, W.Va., died Tuesday,
Aug.
14, 2012, at the Winchester Medical Center.

Born June 15, 1932, in Akron, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late
Norman
Thomas and Velma Sampson Thomas.

Wanda has resided in Romney since 1972, coming from Gormania and Bayard,
W.Va., (Grant County) where she taught school for 24 years. She attended
the
Church of God in Romney. Her roots in Christianity are deep and varied,
doing Ministerial work since 1950; she was a missionary teacher in
Jamaica,
a minister in the Church of God and an evangelist pastor. Wanda's
involvement in the field of education took her to Grant County as a
teacher
and principal. She was the Dean of Women at the Northwest Bible College
in
Minot, N.D. She earned her Assoc. of Arts Degree at Lee University,
Cleveland, Tenn.; her Bachelor of Science at the University of Akron,
Akron,
Ohio, and her Master of Arts at the West Virginia University,
Morgantown,
W.Va. Wanda is listed in the Whose Who of community leaders and a member
of
the Grant County Retired Persons Association. She is also retired member
of
the National Education Association. Wanda enjoyed all aspects of her
life.
As hobbies and pastimes, she enjoyed reading, traveling, and playing one
of
many musical instruments. Her kind, gentle demeanor will be missed by
many.

She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Charles H. "Charley" Ploss;
a
sister, Mrs. Zelda Mac Eller (husband James) of Edgewater, Fla.; two
nephews, Dr. Daniel Eller and David Scott Eller; and six great-nephews
and
nieces.

Friends will be received on Thursday, Aug. 16, 2012, from 2 to 4 and 6
to 8
p.m. at the Shaffer Funeral Home in Romney.

Funeral services will be conducted in the funeral home on Friday, Aug.
17,
at 11 a.m. with Pastor Noah King officiating.

Interment will be in Indian Mound Cemetery, Romney.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Shaffer Funeral Home,
Romney,
W.Va.
