[Nfbwv-talk] Can you identify a marked cross walk?

Hi Dave,

These are very common (marked crosswalks). In my town, every intersection
of at least two streets (not alleyways, avenues, etc.) has crosswalks marked
with parallel lines or zebra hatchings. They usually terminate in small
ramps with traction bumps for wheel chairs. In my experience, most drivers
ignore them and are more than happy to wait within their boundaries for the
light to change or simply drive over your white cane. I have walked into
the side of some of the quieter vehicles or been nearly run down while
crossing within them. Be careful!

Subject: [Nfbwv-talk] Can you identify a marked cross walk?

Hi all!

I didn't think these existed, but guess I missed a lesson.

How does a blind person identify one of these? Are they ever marked with
tactile tiles?

Thanks for any help.

Cheers,
Dave
