Greetings Fellow Federationists,

Please share the following announcement far and wide:

LIVING THE LIVES WE WANT WITH TOMORROW'S TECHNOLOGY

The National Federation of the Blind of West Virginia (NFBWV) and the West Virginia Assistive Technology System (WVATS) invite you to an exposition of blindness-related technology from the latest generation of "talking" screen readers and Braille notetakers to the basic tools of independent living.

"Living the Lives We Want with Tomorrow's Technology" is the opening event of the 2017 convention of the National Federation of the Blind of West Virginia. It takes place
Friday, September 8, 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM
Montgomery Room, HOLIDAY INN AND SUITES
400 Second Avenue
South Charleston, WV

Whether you are a blind person, a teacher of blind children, a counselor or other professional who provides services to blind adults, a relative or friend of a person who is blind or losing vision, or simply an interested individual, you are invited to take advantage of this free event. In addition to presenting a variety of technology vendors such as VFO/Freedom Scientific, HIMS Inc., and Allied Instructional Services, it offers an opportunity to meet and talk with blind persons who use technology on a daily basis as they live independent and productive lives.

The National Federation of the Blind of West Virginia is the state's oldest and largest consumer organization of blind persons. The West Virginia Assistive Technology System is a project of the West Virginia University Center for Excellence in Disabilities. This exposition is the first collaboration of its kind between these two organizations.
