Dear Ms. Painter:

Thank you for taking the time to read this letter. My name is Andrew Harmon,
and I am a legally blind constituent from New Hampton, NH. I am writing to
urge Congresswoman Goodlander to please co-sponsor H.R. 1175, the Blind
Americans Return to Work Act. This bill would help people like myself pursue
employment without the fear of losing benefits as anyone currently receiving
Social Security Disability Insurance benefits automatically lose their
benefits if they make even one dollar over the Substantial Gainful Activity
(SGA) threshold. As someone who works part-time as an independent contractor
working with a company out of Canada performing accessibility testing on
assignment, I never know what hours I will earn in a given month until I
complete the current billing cycle. If I earned enough to go over the
threshold, I would not know if I could continue to make that same amount the
following months, but I would lose my disability benefits, which could
endanger my ability to pay my everyday bills.

I thank you for taking the time to read this letter, and I also thank you
for passing it along to Congresswoman Goodlander. I hope she will consider
co-sponsoring this vital piece of legislation.

Sincerely

Andrew Harmon
