Job Announcement
Title: Director, Adult and Transition Services
Term: Full-Time
Salary: $55,000 to 65,000 annually, depending on experience
The manager of this department directs one of the country’s most forward
thinking and innovative comprehensive rehabilitation programs in a
nationally recognized non-profit organization serving people who are blind
and visually impaired. Applicants should have a desire to work in a
fast-paced autonomous environment and be driven to ensuring clients reach
their vocational and academic goals.

Overview of job duties:
Day-to-day management of the department
Ensure clients achieve their vocational and academic goals
Stay current in rehabilitation education and technology trends as they
relate to people with vision loss
Conduct on-going program improvement and innovation
Staff development
Participate in the creation of grant and RFP proposals
Budget management
Community liaison
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university with a major
in Education, Rehabilitation, counseling, social work, psychology, or
related field (Master’s degree and CRC preferred).
Two years’ experience in the management of transition/rehabilitation
programs/departments (experience in the vision field preferred).
Knowledge of vocational rehabilitation and educational systems including
understanding of state and federal laws, regulations and policies related
to student/client services.
Demonstrated ability to promote and establish new and improved services
and develop and implement policies and procedures.
Ability to obtain valid Arizona fingerprint clearance card.
Demonstrated leadership experience in data driven decision-making and
ability to lead others.
Evidence of ability to effectively use technology to perform duties and
to drive technology as a part of client’s program of services.
Effective presentation skills.
Excellent communication skills and demonstrated ability to work
effectively with staff and community.
