Subject: [Njagdu] I was refused by an Uber driver this morning

Hi folks,

I was waiting for the car on Broad Street in bloomfield, a very busy street.
When I got the notification that the driver was a minute away, I called him
and told him I was blind, and to please identify himself to me when he
arrived. He agreed and hung up. I said nothing about my guide dog. Between
30 and 45 seconds later I think, the driver abruptly canceled my trip.

I reported the problem after arriving home using the Uber app. There is a
specific complaint form concerning service animal problems, and the app
tells you now after you hit the submit button that your problem has been
successfully submitted.

I just spoke with an Uber employee, who just called me. She refunded my
fare, and said she would investigate the problem and continue to update me.

I have already reported this to the NFB via the RideShare form.
