[NJAGDU] two rideshare refusals on two concecutive days, one with guide dog and one without

Hello all,



On Thursday, June 1, I was awaiting an Uber car that was about 3 minutes
away. I was using only a white cane at the time. I messaged the driver on
the app, informing him I was blind, and requesting that he let me know when
he arrived, since I wouldn't see him. Immediately, he cancelled the ride. 



Next morning, a Lyft driver pulled up at my veterinarian's office, where my
guide dog just had a couple of routine shots. "NO dog, no dog," he said
calmly. My attempt to explain that I had a service dog did not help, and he
pulled away. I know this is not news to any of you. 



I've reported both incidents to the respective rideshare companies, and
filled out the NFB Rideshare form twice. During this process, I have
discovered that Lyft has a phone number dedicated to reporting animal
service problems. It is: 1-844-554-1297. Perhaps you already are aware of
this, but I wasn't and wanted to spread the word.
