hey angela here is the key strokes for adding a i con  to your dest top  
Adding an icon to your desk top
Adding an icon to your desk top with windows 7. . .
If you wish to add a program, you need to do the following:
1 press the windows key which is the start menu
2 up arrow to programs sub menu or all programs sub menu
3 since it is a sub menu, use right arrow to open
4 up arrow to the program you wish to add to your desk top
5 when you stop at the program you wish to add as an icon, it is
highlighted/selected by default
6 press the application key and up arrow to send to sub menu
  7 since it is a sub menu right arrow to open and down arrow to desk top 
and
just enter
You now have an icon on your desk top june 29 2015
