wow it tells me that I havve 225 emails and it tells me that I have 200 red 
emails

try pressing insert+page down, what does JAWS say.

meanwhile, it sounds like there's a preview pane open that is showing
only 9 emails at a time. what happens if you down arrow 9 times from
email #1 and press insert+up arrow again. does JAWS say 1 of 9 again?

thank you it works with insert up arrow or insert tab also works
just one thing I do not understand It tells me one out of nine or two
out of nine
I have over two hundred emails
how do I find out how many I have in total in my in box

I think Insert+Up Arrow does this in the list of messages, also, but I'm
not 100% sure about that.
