[NJTechDiv] TTY question

Hi list ken here.  Perhaps jane remembers seeing an article I had written for the braille monitor that wasn’t ever published about how I had reconnected with a deaf friend while at the oakhill school for the blind via the NJ relay.  Still have the braille draft and may resubmit it with updated and changed things in it.  Have really been putting the braille reader through it’s paces.  Was wondering about something.  This didn’t work when I enabled software based TTY functions on the iPhone but what if I enabled the hardware based function.  Would the braille Ereader when paired with an Iphone be able to use TTY functions so I can call my friend susan independently without the relay?  Also if it does work can I use the contracted braille or UEB or would I need to use noncontracted braille.  BTW still working on getting an update. The library is going to send me a cartraidge with the updated software I think that will fix my getting online problem.  Everything else works on it.  If worse comes to worse I’ll bring the reader to the rightaid store when I get my booster shot and connect it to the public wifi and update that way.  Don’t want to send it back Huh?  It works great paired to the iPhone.
