[NJTechDiv] strange issue with the alexa app on the PC

Hi list there is a very odd isssue with my alexa app on my PC. This doesn't happen on the phone app just the PC  whenever the app is closed down and reopened again later the app will suddenly stop.  if in my flash briefing for example the fox news anchor will be mid sentences then stop.  if I wait a few seconds the report will start over from the beginning.  on knight manager when hunting which is a stream of the forest sounds that suddenly stops too.  the odd thing is as long as I do something else like typing this email it's fine and after a while if I'm active on the computer elsewhere the app behaves itself. As if once it gets going it's fine.  I don't know if the app needs updating, when I tried that by saying check for software updates alexa said, I don't support this right now, but I'm learning.  is there another way to check for updates on the PC app?  using this until i can replace the power cord for the echo.  there is a break right at the plug end where it goes into the unit.  this bug appears to be in the minny player that is running if I'm listening to pandora the same thing happens very strange and as i said it does eventually correct itself.  but I have to sometimes restart the PC for updates and when I do an antivirus scann.  I find that the offline scan is really a snap with defendor.  any ideas on how to correct this issue with the alexa app on the PC?
