Their audio help https://www.wnyc.org/audio/help does mention that you
can use the options menu to select a different stream format for use in
iTunes, Windows Media Player, or other media player, but I don't know
what to do to download the PLS or M3U file you seek. Since WNYC is a
public stream, often explaining in an email to their customer or
technical support/service department what you're looking for will most
likely either direct you what and/or where you need to go to change the
format and download the file, or simply email you a direct URL for the
stream you want.
I don't know of any other way than using the direct approach.

Subject: [NJTechDiv] getting a .pls or .m3u address
I want to add some radio stations to a playlist that requires a URL
ending in either .pls or .m3u. I’m having trouble finding those
addresses. I went to the website for the station, chose the live stream
and started playing it, then hit alt-d to get to the address and
control-c to copy it to the clipboard. But the address I get is not the
one I need.
Can anyone help me?
An example is WNYC AM, which is at wnyc.org.
I was trying to put them into either Windows Media Player or VLC. Sure
someone can advise me.
Thanks.
Tracy
