Tracy, did you try restarting the computer, windows+x, press u followed
by r (the official way), or the quick and dirty way by getting to the
desktop and pressing alt+f4. Then right arrowing to restart and pressing
the enter key. Sometimes all that's needed is a restart.
If that didn't work, you can try plugging the Braille printer in to a
different USB port. Sometimes USB ports can start to fail unexpectedly.
You can also try a known working or new parallel to USB cable as these
cables can also fail unexpectedly.
you didn't say what make/model the Braille printer is. This may help in
getting specific assistance in solving your problem.

Subject: [NJTechDiv] Printer problem
I have a braille printer. I printed a couple things the other day, and
then, when I sent the last thing to the printer, it didn’t print. I
tried again today, and again it didn’t receive my stuff. I see my item
in the print queue, but it’s not printing.
The printer connects to the PC with a parallel-to-USB cable. When I
turn on the printer, the PC makes the USB connection sound. The cable
is connected securely at both ends, and it’s in the PC USB port that’s
always worked before. The printer is online and comes on with the
appropriate sound.
I don’t know what else to check. Any ideas?
Tracy
