This month, I bring to your attention various organizational changes, major software updates, expanded transportation access, and new AI tools.


InnoSearch AI to Become a Non-Profit

InnoSearch AI, the accessible shopping and search platform designed for blind and low vision users, has announced that it is transitioning to a non-profit structure.  The move is intended to strengthen its mission-driven focus and long-term sustainability while continuing to improve accessible online shopping experiences.  The platform provides a streamlined, accessibility-first interface for browsing and purchasing products online, removing many of the barriers commonly encountered on traditional retail websites.


RightHear 6.0 for iPhone

RightHear has released version 6.0.0 of its iPhone app, bringing enhancements aimed at simplifying orientation and indoor navigation.  RightHear uses Bluetooth beacons and smartphone technology to provide audio descriptions of surroundings in participating public spaces, helping users understand entrances, nearby services, and interior layouts. Celebrating 40 Years of Dolphin

Dolphin Computer Access, known for products such as EasyReader and SuperNova, is celebrating its 40th anniversary.  Over four decades, Dolphin has contributed significantly to accessibility in education.  The EasyReader app, for example, is used widely throughout the world. Victor Reader Stream 3 – Version 1.6 Update

A new update (Version 1.6) for the Victor Reader Stream 3 has been released, adding refinements and feature improvements to HumanWare’s popular media player.  A recording of the webinar covering the update is available here <https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YdL9gUdRDPs>.

NLS Webinar: “That All May eRead”

On February 24, 2026, NLS will host a webinar titled "That All May eRead: Using Your eReader with Your Android Phone".  This session will focus on pairing NLS eReaders with Android devices and getting the most out of your Android device with a Braille display. Perspective Intelligence 1.5

Perspective Intelligence 1.5 has been described as one of the more experimental AI developments currently making waves in accessibility.  Many functions of the app, for example, are available without an internet connection.  The app is in development and is frequently updated. Be My Eyes Expands with Amtrak

Be My Eyes has announced a major expansion of its partnership with Amtrak, bringing visual assistance support to 50 stations nationwide.  Through the app, travelers can connect with volunteers to receive real-time assistance navigating stations, locating platforms, or identifying signage.
