I am encountering the same issue! I wonder why you have to go to the post
office to get verified for the SSA website!

Subject: [NJTechDiv] Help! login.gov is making me crazy
I need to login to medicare.gov, but now they insist I use login.gov. I've
used login.gov for social security, so I have an ID and password, but now
login.gov is insisting I go through a lengthy verification process to use it
with Medicare.
It seems like the only online option is using my phone. I'm really not
comfortable with that, and I already have pictures of myself and my ID on my
computer. I'm not at all sure I could take as good a selfie with my phone
without someone helping me. And there's no connection between my computer
and my phone, either.
Does anyone know any way to deal with this? Do I really have to get over to
the post office to do this in person, even assuming my local PO does this?
I am deeply unhappy.
Tracy
