Hi all,

Below you will find the minutes from our January meeting. I apologize for
the delay in getting them out. Please read through them and let's approve
them at tonight's meeting.

New Mexico Association of Blind Students January 16, 2011 meeting  minutes

The meeting was called to order at 7:10 PM.

Roll call:

Amanda Youngblood

Josh Brownell

Brianne Kotschwar

Lindsay Sloan

Christopher Chavez

Tara Chavez

We had no guests to introduce.

Treasurer's report:

We had no official report, however, Tara will be depositing some checks and
cash into the treasury as soon as she receives the last check for some mugs.

Brianne moved, Lindsay seconded, the motion carried to approve the
treasurer's report.

Minutes from previous meeting: Chris moved, Amanda seconded, motion carried
to approve the minutes as red.

Announcements:

Washington seminar is coming up. The students representing New Mexico are
Lindsay and Amanda.

The next Albuquerque chapter meeting is January 18 at Shonies located at
6810 Menaul Blvd. NE. The meeting is held from 6:00-8:00 PM.

Fundraising:

T-shirts: We've sold two since our last official meeting and we possibly
sold a third.

Mugs: we've sold three mugs and one mug print.

Benefit nights: Tara contacted Ortega's and they are looking into it and
will let her know. Josh contacted Flying Star and got the same results as
Tara. Each month's meeting is the deadline for answers for which restaurants
are contacted and possibly interested.

Presidential release: None for this month due to technology issues, if
interested in listening to it, go to the NFB web site and click on
publications, then speeches and reports, then presidential releases.

Activity between this meeting and the next: Game day at UNM SUB from
11:30-3:30. We will get lunch together then play games for the rest of the
time and hang out.

Brianne moved, Amanda seconded, motion carries to adjourn the meeting.

The meeting was adjourned at 7:51 PM.

Afterthought:

Tara requested that everyone send her ideas for what to do for our seminar
at state convention before the next meeting so we can begin putting together
the agenda.
