Greetings,
My name is Joanne stark. I am 26 years old, and have bounced through a number of career ideas over the years, but I have finally settled on a path to a degree in early childhood education. I plan on starting school in fall, 2015 at the University of Wisconsin, Marathon County in Wausau, eventually transferring to the University of Minnesota's early childhood education program to obtain my bachelor degree. I have contemplated taking things a step further after this is done, and considered a possible master's degree in teaching the blind and visually impaired, but nothing is guaranteed. so this is where I am currently. I am still waiting to hear about residency in Wausau, and will be visiting the town in a couple of weeks to meet with financial and academic advisors at this school, among other things. If anyone has any recommendations for questions I should ask them, please send them my way. I don't want to leave any subject overlooked at the end of both meetings, nor do I wish to see a repeat of my college nightmare I experienced several years back when I attended university before I was emotionally ready to do so. I know this request doesn't really apply to education, and it should also be sent to NABS,but I feel taking a proactive approach and receiving feedback from people both in the prospective field and on the way to receiving degrees in education, is needed. Asking all the right questions early, (in this case nearly a year early), will help me have a better, more enriching college experience this time around, now that I am certain of my purpose in life. Of course, not all answers can be gotten before college starts, but I want to be prepared this time, and I am doing much of the advocacy and speaking myself, which I feel will make all the difference in my education. Trust me when I say this was not the case seven years ago.
Hoping you are all well. Take care and have a great day. Looking forward to hearing from you soon.
