Hi Chris and all,

Alas, I have not developed any measures against cheating. Usually the questions I ask on my cell phone quizzes are so obscure and individualistic that it would be difficult for students to cheat. I also make the quizzes very brief.

I figure if students are going to cheat, they’re going to cheat. And I would say that my attitude about cell phones is the same; the only reason I even punish the students is because the cell phones are distracting for other students and for me.

Best,
Emily

Since these individuals are typically only in my class during this time (e.g., typically, I do not have a TA... in class with me at all times), how do you ensure there is no cheeting... during pop quizzes if not able to see the students?

It could end up with a lot of extra work to grade, and I think that with my kids it would take more than once or twice, but I think I might put this in place for second quarter.
