[nobe-l] Question about teaching

Hi Valerie,

These are great questions. As far as work with the younger grades. One thing administration really looks for is student work. One way to do this is compile student work, including drawings or papers and hang them on bulletin boards. It's relatively simple to get a teaching assistant or someone to help with these kinds of tasks. There's nothing wrong with asking someone who can see to give any tips on how visually stimulating things are. You want to pay attention not only to how things look, but you want to also avoid clutter.

Also, you should think about the kinds of artwork or furniture you would like in the classroom. Think about how you would like it placed. Something I did when I was working with kindergarten was create a visual chart for the room. I sat down with somebody and decided exactly where things would go. It went along way as far as keeping things organized for  me and for the students.
