Hi! I'm almost at the end of my program to become a TVI. I agree with Robert that an embosser will be necessary. For an embosser I'd recommend either a romeo 60, Juliet 120 or an Index Everest version 5. For a note taker I'd recommend the Braille Note Touch Plus. This note taker is running the latest version of Android and was just released last month. It allows me to do my classes easily online. It is a full note taker that also connects to a computer or your smart phone and acts as a braille display. For a laptop, I'd recommend a dell xps 13. It's extremely fast and lightweight.
