I took my teacher certification exams through Pearson. If I’m being honest, it was not a super enjoyable experience. I did my test at home online. They had a person who was proctoring my exam and another person in case there were any screen reader hiccups. It took them a few months to get each of my exams accessible for this process. it was a giant headache. Once they made them accessible, that part was totally fine. My only issue was getting them to that point. I wanted to take my exam at a third-party testing location in my local area, but they told me I could not do that . They said if I wanted to use a screen reader I was going to have to go to their Pearson center which was over an hour away from me. I told them that was not logical due to the time it would take to take the exam and with transportation. Their suggestion was that I get a hotel and make a weekend out of it . I asked if they were going to pay for my adventure and of course they were not prepared to do so lol.
