[Oagdu] what to do when police will do nothing

Marianne,
I have been wondering about the second case as well, since I did hear about that one. I think this is something that we should bring up during our OAGDU conference call on Sunday.
I believe since the business owner backed down that there is really not a case there, I know because something similar happened to me at Walmart last year. Yes, it is ridiculous that the manager even tried to deny this person and they definitely should be reprimanded at work.
But, I do believe we need to work on making this better, and when businesses do deny us access, we need to stand up and if police are called, they need to help advocate for us.
Let's talk on Sunday.

Subject: [Oagdu] what to do when police will do nothing

I have heard of 2 cases very recently where a customer with a service dog was denied service because of the dog. In both cases, the police were called and they said they couldn't do anything. Since most states have a law and a fine that goes along with the law why isn't it being enforced? Is there anything OAGDU can or should do in Ohio when we become aware of this happening?

In one case the employee backed down after the police were called but before they arrived. Should there still be a fine?
