[Oagdu] Considering a food switch.

Ok, now I never get into this but I will in this case.

Nash has eaten ProPlan since birth & we continue this to this day. It is the adult sport. The bag is purple & green with an Australian shepherd on the bag. I add a small amount of flack seed powder to help with dry skin, scratching. This doesn’t stink & you can get coupons from purina for free full sized bags.

I keep my opinions to myself in most cases like this because what we feed our Pogs is a very personal issue. Many people feel strongly about their decisions & I don’t want to offend anyone for any reason.

I will share also that you should avoid the flack seed capsule. I believe that one or more of the shells, the part that holds the oil in the capsule, got stuck in Nash’s death & this caused a need for a dental cleaning under anesthesia. avoid the pill form of this nutrient. Powder lasts longer & Pogs love the taste of it. They think that every meal comes with a bonus treat when you add the powder.

Tollbooth & Nash.

So, I switched him to Purina One, and he did much better on it. He never has loose stools and also poops less frequently. The thing is however, recently the food has really started to smell yucky. It smells like vomit and turns my stomach. Of course, Mambo still loves it! I’ve noticed this stench with the last few bags I’ve purchased.

So, I’m considering switching Mambo to a different food. He seems to be ok with the Lamb and rice formulas, so I’m looking for a brand comparable to Natural Balance. And also, maybe one that doesn’t stink! Maybe I can go to the pet store and open up all of the bags of dog food and smell them??? LOL
