Oagdu minutes 3-13-22
Meeting was called to order by president LouAnn Bowers at 7:05 PM.
Members present: LouAnn Bowers, deanna Lewis, Dianne Guaditis, marianne Denning, Debbie Baker, Annette Anderson, Asia Quinone-Evans, and Paula Jordan. Paul Sandoval, NAGDU vice president was also present.
Debbie Baker moved to approve the February 13th minutes seconded by Marianne Denning. Motion carried.

Paul Sandoval talked with us about our desire to change the Ohio legislation to bring it into compliance with the ADA. Paul spoke about the need to educate first responders as well as bringing the state law into ADA compliance. He thought that it might be good to go outside of the NFB for support of the proposed legislation. He shared some of the projects that NAGDU is working on including the one minute video project to compile people's experiences of being refused rides with either Uber or Lyft because of their guide dogs. The NAGDU board is trying to be more open and communicate with the members of the NFB.
He gave us the Nagdu contact information:
phone, 346-439-7444.
Email board at nagdu.org. To subscribe to the NAGDU list we should email vp at nagdu.org.

The NAGDU app is up and running for IOS. It is in the app store. There are a number of NAGDU items for sale also.
Treasurer's report: Current balance $1,335.44: Marianne and Deanna have been working with the bank to have the $11 monthly charge removed since we are a nonprofit organization. A $33 charge for the last 3 months was removed. However, we just got an $11 charge again, so further discussion is needed. Dianne Guaditis moved to accept the treasurer's report seconded by Debbie Baker.

Fund raising committee report: we will have a honey baked ham gift card sale again. We'll get 20% of sales. Sale runs until 12-31-2022. We'll also sell Mallie's chocolate bars. There are 5 different A motion was made by Deanna Lewis that we order 15 cases, 3 of each flavor, and sell the candy bars for $2
per bar. Our cost is $1.00 per bar. The motion was seconded by Marianne Denning and passed unanimously.

Under old business we brought up the question about wording on the larger business cards. No decision was made.

Under new business Steve Hoyt from Pilot Dogs asked for help getting a pedestrian hybrid signal on Rich street to allow pilot Dog trainees to safely cross that intersection. He has made several contacts including talking with the governor and would like our backing. We can handle Steve's request on that hybrid pedestrian signal individually. Paul will check to be sure about where the NFB now stands concerning audible signals. The suggestion was made to have an electronic signature available so that we can sign in support more easily.

Next meeting is April 10th. Debbie moved to adjourn seconded by Deanna.
Meeting was adjourned at 8:15 PM.
Respectfully submitted
Paula Jordan, secretary
