Shielded by the Light of His Presence
It’s easy to be frightened when we watch the news, highlighting all the wicked events happening in our world. It’s filled with stories of murders, kidnapping, robbery, floods, fires, and the list goes on and on. The criteria for making it on the news seems to be: “If it bleeds–it leads!” It’s no wonder why so many people live in fear; carrying guns, and dead bolting their houses at night. But God has promised to protect us. In Psalm 97:10 we’re told, “You who love the Lord, hate evil! He preserves the souls of His saints; He delivers them out of the hand of the wicked.” We need not worry when our lives are surrendered to God. We can thank God for His love and goodness and His promise to hide and protect us from trouble. (Psalm 121:7-8) God is our safe place to run to! He is ever looking out for us. Just think what it will be like when we get to heaven and learn about all the times our guardian angels stepped in to save us! We are in serious danger and do have reason to fear if we are trying to “go it alone!” It is a dark and dangerous world out there but when we stay close to Jesus, we are shielded by the light of His presence–and there’s no better place to be! Text: Psalm 34:7, Psalm 5:11, John 10:10

Bible Texts:
Psalm 34:7 NKJV - "The angel of the LORD encamps all around those who fear Him, And delivers them."

John 10:10 NKJV - ""The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly."
